Plantation Teak is grown as a preservation measure and is grown and harvested using sustainable forestry. It is just as acid and flame spread resistant as regular teak and is great to use on boats, docks, and outdoor furniture.

Description: Heartwood is a uniform golden brown with no discernable markings. Straight to slightly wavy grain patterns with a coarse, uneven and oily to the touch texture. A white glistening deposit can be present.

Origin: Southeast Asia
Working Properties: Moderately difficult to work with on power tools with a severe blunting effect on cutters. Nailing requires pre-drilling. Glues and stains and takes an oil finish well.
Mechanical Properties: Dimensional stability is rated as very good. Medium bending (13710 psi) and crush strength (7605 psi). Low shock resistance. Can be split easily. Good steam bending characteristics.
Janka Hardness: 1080
