Description: Heartwood color varies from light to dark reddish-brown.Straight to interlocked grain with a uniformly medium to coarse texture. Dark colored gum or white deposits commonly occur in the pores.

Working Properties: Works great with hand or power tools. Glue, nails and screws well. Stains and polishes to an excellent finish.
Mechanical Properties: Medium to low bending strength (11514 psi), medium crush strength (6465 psi). Very low stiffness and shock resistance. Medium to good steam bending characteristics.
Janka Hardness: Varies from 800 - 1500
