Description: Very wide creamy white sapwood with a narrow brown, black, or variegated heartwood core. Sapwood will darken to a yellowish to grayish brown. Brown to orange brown streaks can sometimes be present. Texture is fine and even with a close and straight grain.

Working Properties: Easily workable with power or hand tools. Can be finished and painted easily. Turns and planes well.
Mechanical Properties: Dense, & resistant to wear, Persimmon wood is elastic enough to be used for items such as golf clubs. High crushing (9520 psi) and bending strength (18600 psi)with moderate stiffness.
Janka Hardness: 2300
